General Electric GE Healthcare Intern – Analytics Associate Consultant in Arlington Heights, Illinois

Role Summary:

The Intern Consultant, Analytics will work with clients and multi-disciplinary consulting teams and will possess strong analytical skills, a structured approach to problem solving and experience with process improvement and statistical analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Analytics Associate Consultant Intern will assist in the delivery of productivity solutions for GE Healthcare clients. Analytics Consulting is an exciting discipline combining traditional consulting with analytics disciplines such as data science, statistics, simulation and predictive modeling. Engagements follow a problem back approach, leveraging interviews and data mining to align clients around high-value problem statements, then designing targeted solutions to improve performance. Project types include designing efficient healthcare facilities, re-configuring existing capacity for patient throughput and experience, improving health system utilization and implementing real-time analytics in command centers to dynamically optimize coordination of patient care.

Responsibilities Include

  • Contributing to engagement deliverables, coordinate activities and provide any necessary support to the engagement team.

  • Assisting in the collection, validation and analysis of data to support engagement objectives.

  • Assisting in the preparation of clear and insightful executive-level presentations.

  • Participating in Knowledge Management activities as directed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Candidate for Degree in Engineering, Math or Statistics or related discipline

  • Formal problem solving, logic

  • Experience with analytic techniques: regression analysis, simulation modeling, timeseriesforecasting, hypothesis testing using R, SAS or similar software

  • Experience programming in Java, C# or similar production level language applied to datamanagement, algorithms and automation

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs

  • Data management in SQL or Oracle, understanding of Data Mining principles and strategies

  • Hands on experience with data visualization and dashboard development in Tableau, Qlik or similar

  • Excellent communication skills, teamwork

  • Ability to travel minimum 75%
