Our Clinical Affairs Team has an opportunity for a Clinical Support Specialist . The Clinical Affairs Support Specialist will support the Clinical Affairs Program Team, by providing i-STAT system training, developing training materials, troubleshooting support to the clinical sites, as needed following the approved clinical study protocol and supporting documents. The Clinical Affairs Support Specialist may also provide product and field knowledge during clinical planning, study design, protocol and/or workflow development.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Develop training materials to be used during the clinical site staff training following the approved protocol, workflow and product labelling.
Provide and document i-STAT system training, either in person or remotely via video conference, to Clinical Site staff during Site Initiation Visits, re-training and expansions during the clinical studies, following the approved clinical study protocol and supporting documents.
Assess and document proficiency after training for all site staff following approved clinical study documents.
Serve as i-STAT system Subject Matter Expert (SME) resource providing effective and efficient product knowledge and troubleshooting following clinical study approved documents.
Document all communication with sites to the CRA’s.
Apply clinical and technical expertise to train Abbott staff for clinical trials and applicable commercial launches.
Communicate to study team proactively and in a timely manner, all study and site updates critical to clinical priorities.
Provide feedback on clinical planning, study design, protocol development and supporting documents with clinical affairs, R&D or cross-functional teams.
Act as an additional resource for technical questions and troubleshooting.
Identify and adapt to shifting priorities and competing demands. Remaining current on developments in the field of expertise including clinical and i-STAT product knowledge, competitive positioning and published scientific and economic evidence.
Develop and execute training strategies; utilize available resources effectively; lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams;
Cultivate relationships with clinical sites.
Mentor / train new staff; serve as lead i-STAT System SME
Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures and guidelines
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Medical Technology, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy or a related medical field of study;
Skilled in the use of technology, and able to utilize video conference tools to provide training.
4+ years of working in the healthcare field with 2+ year in a clinical hospital position
Expert with the APOC i-STAT system, or other similar device.
Influence and lead both with and without direct authority.
Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately communicate (written and oral)
Ability to confidently speak in public and lead training groups
Form and develop long-term strategic and professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.
Ability to work independently and in groups
Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong organization and time management skills
Background of superior customer service
Willing and able to travel by all means of transportation (including overnight travel) up to 25% of the time to support business goals.
